Welcome to January

Happy 2012 to everyone.

As 2011 comes to an end and we look forward to 2012, I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of (of course I’m biased here) THE BEST running team in the Twin Cities.  Not only are we a great running team, but truly a group of great friends and that’s what a team is all about. We run together, push each other in workouts and races, but we support and cheer for each other regardless of how our own race might have turned out.

Looking at the results below from 2011, it’s no wonder why the running “royalty” of the Twin Cities is sitting up and taking note of the successes of Minnesota RED.  We continue to have people come up to us and say, “WOW, we thought you were just a social team, not one of the top running teams”.  When I look at the results that we had this past year vs. years past, we just continue to get stronger and faster.  When you see that 32% of the time that a MNRED member runs a race and a PR is set, that’s amazing!  Now when we show up at a race, the other competitors look at us to see who they will compete against and that’s not just on the front line, that’s thru the entire pack.  That speaks volumes about how each of you help each other reach those new PR’s.   So as we head to Houston and a few other races in just a few short weeks, I continue to be excited about the “what if’s”, the incredible effort that everyone puts forth toeing the line and the new PR’s that await us in January and for the rest of the year.

For those of you that I had the pleasure and your trust to coach this year, thank you very much. It’s an honor and a responsibility that I take VERY personally. You have a lot of options for teams to run with and coaches to be coached by so on behalf of Myself, Coach Brian and the entire MNRED board, THANK YOU for being a part of MNRED. I look forward to seeing you on the roads in 2012 and of course this is YOUR team so please feel free to let us know what we can do to continue to make it the # 1 team in MN!

Take care, and I’ll….

See you on the roads, in 2012!
